Rebecca Zimmer Huber, sister of Stephen and Mark began singing publicly with the family group, “The Young Zimmers” at the age of 10 years. By 16 years, she was the vocalist with the “Buck Shaffer Fabulous Studio Band” and accompanied them on two U.S. Tours.  She was also an accomplished cellist and played with the Tulare County Symphony, California until the age of 18, when she was crowned “Miss Tulare County.”

 Upon completing her duties as “Miss Tulare County,” she went on to college with the goal of obtaining a degree at San Jose State University in voice therapy, as a speech-language pathologist. She performed as a vocalist at Marriott’s Great America during this time, taking a year off to tour on Norwegian Cruise Lines as a vocalist and dancer in the production shows.

Upon completing her Master’s Degree at California State University, Los Angeles, she began working as a speech language pathologist and raising her three children. During this time, she sang as a cantor, played organ and was a reader in various churches continuing her work with voice therapy and as a cellist with various groups.

She sang with the Temecula Valley Master Chorale, Don Morris Singers, and La Jolla Renaissance Singers (as cellist and vocalist).

She is currently the lead vocalist reader and member of the School of Cantors at Holy Angels Byzantine Catholic Church, San Diego California.

She is adjunct professor of Vocal Performance at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic University in Escondido, California. Please see full bio and spotlight video linked below.

She sings and plays the cello in a contemporary group; “Mary’s Manhattans,” plays cello in a string quartet, “Belo Som,” and is a regular cellist in the pit orchestra for San Diego Junior Theatre at the El Prado Theater in San Diego.
